Life is meant to be lived. Not only endured but truly lived. We’re supposed to feel all kinds of emotions. Have good days, bad days and everything in between. What we see in our future is based on our thoughts at the moment. That’s why being mentally aware is so important. Sometimes when I rush around in everyday life with a storm of thoughts and feelings in my head, I need to stop to see the patterns that I recreate. Time and time again.

When I was younger I thought everyone else was responsible for my mood, my feelings and my future. Now I have learned that I am the only one responsible. We’ve heard it so many times, that it’s all about mindset. We can choose to be happy and positive, or the opposite. But life is much harder than black and white, yes or no, positive or negative. There are so many colours in between that we need to know about and see.
But it’s true, what I think and how I think today – will affect my future.
Everyday I practice mental awareness. I think about what’s in my head right now, and why. Is there something that takes up space that is not ment to be there? Or if I have a bad day, what does it come from and can I do anything about it? I often don’t even find answers to my own questions. But the funny thing is that I don’t have to have the answers.
Just being aware solves almost everything. Human beings usually recreate patterns in thoughts and acts. We do the same things and get the same results, over and over again. Being aware about your thoughts and feelings and where they come from, will eventually make you see the patterns. And when you see it, you can change it. You have the power to change your future.

This weekend we’ve been outside a lot. Cooking over open fire and drinking hot coffee and breathing cold air. Nothing is so refreshing for the soul as being outside. I know I’ve said this a hundred times but it truly is a key to happiness. And best of all? It’s free.
Do you feel stressed, tired, not enough or worn out? Stop. Whatever you are doing. Put your phone down or even turn it off for a moment. Close your eyes. Breathe. Just sit there for a minute or two. What’s buzzing in your head and heart at the moment? Let it all just be. You just took the first step in changing your future.

Him. The best motivation to making my future, and the present moment, happy and alive.
